There are many major running events which take place in Canada. Most of the challenge race are multiday events and therefore they are not recommended to the elderly. Only fit and the most resilient people are advised to take part in the events to make sure that the not only challenge is beaten but they also get the medals. The biggest races in Canada are Vancouver Marathon, Montreal Marathon, and Ottawa Marathon. These races are though challenging but not recommended to the people that want to test their stamina over the course of 2 – 3 days. There are many lesser-known racing events which the people can participate in. Most of the people are not at all knowledgeable about the events. If they are they don’t want to take part in these events. It is all because of the fact that the events are very tough to compete in and the challenges are very hard to perform. However, it is highly advised to young Canadians to remain fit. It will also make sure that the participants come out of the health problems if they are facing any. Such races are organized each year and it is astonishing to note that with the passage of time the attendance of such events is increasing.
Maritime Race Weekend
It is one of the toughest racing challenges which you can take part in to test your strength. The race is organized in September each year and this year the dates which are fixed are 14 -15 of the month. It is a two-day racing event which will make sure that the runners take rest on a Friday evening and then start again on Saturday morning. The best part of this event is that it does not offer short distances. You can compete in sunrise 5K, coastal 10K, half marathon and full marathon classic which makes the challenges even tougher to perform.
Golden Ultra
This is another challenge which will make sure that you trek the mountainous region of Golden Ultra in British Columbia. The event is spanned over 3 consecutive days and the racers get very little time to rest. The total distance of the race is 85K which consists of 58.2K ultra and half marathon. The runners must complete the track within 3 days and there is no exception to it. The track consists of dense forests which are not advised by the organizers at night. It is also advised to complete the most part of the track with others in sight.
Canada Army Run
Now this one is tough as the name suggests. It is one of the best races to compete in. There are 2 parts of the race which include the commander challenge and the Ortona challenge. The commander challenge includes finishing the half and full marathon on the same day which is not possible for many and people quit. The Ortona challenge begins on the next morning. In this challenge, you need to finish both 5K and 10K on the same morning.
